It is an exemplary scholarship scheme that aims to identify, support, and empower deserving students pursuing a career in engineering and technology. Samsung Star Scholar across the Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology for the benefit of the students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), to provide them with opportunities for good quality higher education, irrespective of their capacity to pay for it.
Scholarship candidates have the opportunity to secure scholarships from eligible institutes provided they meet the specific criteria.
Samsung is extending a scholarship program to students graduating from all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV), which are administered by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti—an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
To be considered for this scholarship, candidates must be first-year students enrolled in a full-term B. Tech/Dual Degree course at the respective institute.
Selection of first-year scholarship candidates is based on their All India Rank (AIR) in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main).
The scholarship covers tuition fees, as well as hostel and mess charges.
The duration of the scholarship spans one academic year, with the potential for extension to three years for a B. Tech. Degree Course and four years for a Dual Degree Course, contingent upon applicable regulations.
Students selected under this scholarship program are not permitted to receive any other form of financial assistance or scholarship from any Govt or non-Govt institutes.
Scholarship Amount:
The selected applicants will be eligible for an annual scholarship amount of up to two lakh Rupees (Rs.2,00,000/-). This amount covers tuition fees, hostel fees, mess fees, as well as exam and registration fees.
