The Top Class Scholarship Scheme for SCs aims to recognize and encourage high-quality education for students from Scheduled Castes (SCs) by offering them financial assistance. This scheme is designed to assist SC students in pursuing studies beyond the 12th class.
The program will be active in all the institutions designated by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for the period from 2023-24 to 2025-26. Students who receive this scholarship will continue to benefit from it until they successfully complete their course, provided they maintain a satisfactory level of performance throughout their studies.

SC students with a total annual family income of up to Rs. 8.00 lakh are eligible for this scheme.
To qualify for the scheme, students must have secured admission in a full-time prescribed course at one of the designated institutions.
In the event that the number of eligible students admitted exceeds the available scholarships, the awards will be limited to the top students in the inter-se merit list.
Fresh scholarships will only be granted to first-year students. Students in their second, third, or fourth year will not be considered for new scholarships.
30% of the slots allocated to each institution will be reserved for eligible SC girl students based on their inter-se merit.
The scheme will not provide benefits to more than two siblings in the same family.
Scholarship recipients must maintain their academic performance and promotion to the next class; failure to do so may result in the termination of their scholarship.

Scholarship Amount:
Students will receive an academic allowance of Rs. 86,000 during their first year of study, which is intended to cover living expenses, books, stationery, computer/laptop along with necessary accessories like a UPS and printer. In the subsequent years, the allowance will be Rs. 41,000 per year to support their ongoing educational needs.
The institution will choose eligible SC students based on their merit, which will be determined according to the results of the entrance examination.
How to Apply Top Class Scholarship Scheme for SCs 2023-24?
All the eligible candidates are required to apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). They should complete the application process by uploading their income certificate, and caste certificate, and provide relevant information regarding their bank account, admission rank, and fee details.
