The AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has introduced this program with a noble purpose in mind. It aims to offer a helping hand and motivation to orphans, children who lost their parents to the unfortunate circumstances of COVID-19, as well as the children of our brave Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

This initiative is a dedicated effort to provide every such child with the chance to continue their education and prepare for a brighter future by enrolling in AICTE-approved institutions and courses.

Eligibility Criteria for Swanath Scholarship:

  • Orphans, those who have lost either or both parents to COVID-19, and the children of our courageous Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
  • The family’s total annual income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 8 lakh for eligibility in this scheme.
  • To be eligible for the Swanath scholarship scheme, students should presently be enrolled in AICTE-approved institutions, pursuing Degree or Diploma courses in a regular mode during their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study.
  • Students should not have previously received any scholarships sponsored by the Central, or State Government, or AICTE to be eligible for this scheme.

No. of Scholarships:

Each year, a maximum of 2,000 scholarships will be granted to eligible candidates, with 1,000 scholarships for degree and another 1,000 scholarships for diploma students.

Scholarship Amount:

Every year throughout their study, first-year admitted Degree students can receive up to Rs. 50,000/- for a maximum of four years. Diploma students, on the other hand, can receive financial support for a maximum of three years. This amount can be utilized for various expenses, including college fees, purchasing a laptop, stationery, books, equipment, and other educational necessities.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected solely based on their merit in the qualifying examination for pursuing a Degree course at one of the AICTE-approved institutions.

How to Apply for Swanath Scholarship Online 2023-24?

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria should complete their application online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) scholarships.gov.in. Once the application process commences a notification is released on either the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) website or the NSP website.

Application Renewal:

The scholarship can be renewed for the following year of study upon submission of a renewal request through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). This request should include a promotion certificate and a bonafide certificate from the Head of the Institution.
