WBMDFC Aikyashree Scholarship Scheme 2022-23

The West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) invites online applications from meritorious students belonging to Minority communities such as Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsees, and Jain for the academic year 2022-23. This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to poor and meritorious students to enable them to pursue professional or technical courses at the degree or post-graduate level.

The West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation was established in the year 1996 as a body corporate by virtue of the W.B.M.D.F.C. Act 1995 for the welfare of minority communities. To implement and monitor sponsored schemes as well as economic schemes implemented under the minorities program.

WBMDFC is a Statutory Corporation under the State Government of West Bengal with the vision of making socio-economic developments for the people who belong to the minority community. Students, who have got admission to any Government recognized college pursue technical/professional courses. The scholarship is dependent on the satisfactory progress and conduct of the scholar.

Eligible students are required to apply online only on the Aikyashree official scholarship portal https://wbmdfcscholarship.org. Applicants should be Indian citizens and permanent residents of West Bengal. 31st December 2022 is the last date for submission of online applications for fresh as well as renewal of scholarships by the students.

WWBMDFC also offered soft loans and education loans to pursue many professional and vocational courses only for minorities between 18 years to 50 years of age for self-employment and 16 years to 32 years for educational schemes whose parent’s annual income is not more than Rs. 81,000 (Eighty-One Thousand Rupees) in rural areas and Rs. 1, 03,000 (One Lakh and Three Thousand) in urban areas.

There are various schemes and programs provided by WBMDFC and some of them are the Aikyashree merit-cum-means scholarship, Aikyashree post-matric scholarship, Aikyashree post-matric scholarship, and Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means, State Govt. Sponsored stipend under Talent Support Programme, and educational loan.

Every year WBMDFC offers scholarships to students names are merit-cum-means, post-matric, and pre-matric scholarships for minorities community such as Muslims, Christians, Jains, Parsis, Sikhs, and Buddhists.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Only a candidate domiciled in West Bengal will be eligible.
  • The student must have passed the last examination with at least 50% marks (except for class 1).
  • A student is eligible for a scholarship from anyone source only.
  • Students pursuing courses through distance mode are not eligible.
  • One mobile number can be used for the registration of one application only. However, in the case of pre-matric scholarship, a maximum of two applications can be filed through one mobile number.
  • After submitting the online application, the applicant must take a printout of the same and submit it to the concerned institute along with a photocopy of the bank passbook containing bank account no, IFSC code, and a self-declaration of annual family income.

WBMDFC Scholarship

1. Aikyashree Merit-cum-Means Scholarship:

  • Students pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, professional, and technical courses in recognized institutions in West Bengal, affiliated with any recognized university. However, students domiciled in West Bengal and pursuing their courses in any of the listed institutions only like IIT, IIM, NIT, NIFT, IIFT, etc. in or outside West Bengal are also eligible.
  • Students of the listed institutes will get reimbursement of the tuition fees (as per the list of institutes available at www.wbmdfc.org).
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakhs.
  • For pursuing courses (professional or technical) at the undergraduate or postgraduate level scholarship amount ranges from Rs.22,000 to Rs.33,000 pa.

Aikyashree Scholarship

2. Aikyashree Post Matric Scholarship:

  • Students pursuing higher secondary, ITI, Diploma, Graduation, Post Graduation, M.Phil. B.Ed, etc. from recognized institutions in West Bengal.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed 2 lakhs.
  • It is compulsory that students should have at least 50% marks in the previous exam.
  • Scholarship amount ranges from 10.200 to 316,500 p.a., subject to actuals.

Aikyashree Scholarship

3. Aikyashree Pre-Matric Scholarship:

  • Students studying from classes I-X in recognized institutions in West Bengal.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed 2 lakhs.
  • Scholarship amount ranges from 1,100 to 11,000 pa, subject to actuals.
