University of Madras Scholarship 2021-22

Financial assistance is open to all post-graduate students and full-time Ph.D. scholars of the Madras university once during their study period.

The scholarship will be granted as per the guidelines approved by the Madras University. Every effort shall be made for equitable distribution of the amount to all the scholarship applications received.

Each candidate is expected to secure more financial assistance from other government and private agencies to meet the complete expenditure. Academic activities to attend a conference, seminar, workshop, PG course, training, or data collection.

Visits to foreign countries as permitted by the Indian government the listed countries are classified as North and South America, Australia, New Zealand, and many more.

Eligibility Criteria for UNOM Scholarship:

1. PG and M.Phil students and Ph.D. scholars of Indian nationality are eligible for financial assistance.
2. Eligible students who travel under exchange programs as specified in a memorandum of understanding between the Madras university and the foreign Institutes.
3. The candidates should not already avail of assistance under this scholarship scheme. Financial assistance shall be given under this scheme only once during the post-graduate, M.Phil, or Ph.D. program.
4. The candidate must have obtained consent for the foreign visit from his supervisor and an invitation from the Institute, or the conference, workshop, or seminar.

Financial Assistance Types:

The financial assistance can be used for the registration fees, Air travel, accommodation, and food expenses. The details of financial assistance such as:

• Air-Travel – 50%
• Registration Amount – 50%
• DA 30 to 40 Dollars

How to Apply for Madras University Scholarship?

1. Download the application form online from www.unom.ac.in or from the link given below.
2. Fill out the application form carefully and enclose the documents such as passport, invitation letter, acceptance letter, and statement of anticipated expenses (travel fare, registration fee, local travel, food, lodging, and boarding.
3. The application shall reach the university registrar’s office not less than two months before the actual foreign trip date.
4. Candidates should submit the application form to the Office of the UCIR, Madras university, Chepauk, Triplicane, Chennai -600 005, Tamil Nadu.
5. Applications will be processed every year in July, Sep, Dec, and Feb.
