Apply Disabled Scholarship Scheme (2021-22) Chhattisgarh

Scholarships are offered from primary education to postgraduate and professional courses for disabled students by the Social Welfare Department. The aim of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Chhattisgarh (CG) State is to provide financial support for disabled students to receive an education.

The responsibility of the Social Welfare Department CG is to provide social security to the person and to benefit such sections of society which are in trouble due to physical, mental, social, economic, or any other reason.

Chhattisgarh was awarded the National Award for the year 2016 in the empowerment of the people. In the year 2017, the State of Chhattisgarh again received the National Award for Best State in the field of Disability.

Such schemes are being run by the department so that the support of senior citizens, disabled people, widows, and abandoned women, law blocks, and child support can be provided. Rehabilitation services to disabled people according to their needs, capacity, and family perspective.

Disabilities Act:

In accordance with the Disabilities Act 1995, for the purpose of providing social and economic rehabilitation of the disabled and providing them resources, a fully equipped regional rehabilitation center has been set up.

The rules have been made by marking the posts for them for the purpose of providing employment to disabled people in government service. In order to reduce their disability and mobilize mobility, artificial limbs and accessories are being provided by organizing large camps in each district.

For the disabled, arrangements have been made for free residential education through government and voluntary institutions in the state. For social rehabilitation of the disabled, the amount under the disabled wedding incentive scheme 21000/- per incentive amount is being provided.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Students must be a resident of Chhattisgarh State.
• The disability percentage should be 40% or more.
• Should be regular in school/college / technical course.
• The monthly income of the student’s parents should not be more than Rs.8000/- pm.

Scholarship Amount:

• Rs.150/- for 1st and 5th class students
• Rs.170/- for 6th to 8th class students
• Rs.190/- for 9th to 12th class students

Selection Process:

Right to accept/reject by the District Office Panchayat and Social Welfare Department.

How to Apply Disabled Scholarship Scheme?

Interested and eligible students may download the application in the prescribed format and submit it to the District Office, Panchayat, and Social Welfare office through the Head of the institution.
