Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship for 2022-23

Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship for girl students was previously known as Maulana Azad National Scholarship. It was started by Maulana Azad Education Foundation in the year 2003.

The main objective of the scholarship scheme is to enable financial support to eligible and meritorious girl students who belong to minority communities.

The aim of the foundation is to create and implement various educational schemes for the welfare of the backward-class minorities of the weaker sections of society.

Interested students may visit the MAEF official site https://maef.nic.in for more details. Students who already getting a scholarship amount from any other source are not eligible for the Begum Hazrat scholarship.

Apply online for the academic year 2022-23 on or before the last date. No fresh/renewal scholarship application will be accepted from those students who have not submitted their application form in the given time period.

The objective of the Scheme:

To promote and support girl candidates belonging to minority communities who cannot pursue their qualifications due to being economically weak.

The Begum Hazrat Mahal National scholarship scheme will support students with school or college fees, books & stationery, purchase of the required equipment, and lodging charges.

The scholarship scheme notification will be published on the Maulana Azad Education Foundation’s official portal website as well as paper advertisements in the leading newspapers and other publicity media.

There is a fixed quota of scholarships, students from BPL (Below Poverty Line) families, having the lowest annual income shall prefer the most.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Begum Hazrat Mahal National scholarship scheme is only eligible girl candidates belonging to Muslim / Christian/Sikh /Buddhist/Jains and Parsis Communities.
  • The scholarship will be provided only to 9th to 12th-class students.
  • Students must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in their previous exam.
  • The annual income of the student’s family should not be more than Rs.2.00 lakh from all sources. The annual income proof certificate of parents is to be collected from the competent authority.
  • Students should submit only one application, if the students apply for more than one application then all the applications will be considered duplicates and get rejected.
  • The scholarship amount will be transferred directly into the bank account of the students through the Direct Benefit Transfer mode.
  • No scholarship will be awarded to study abroad.
  • Students should avail of any other scholarship scheme implemented by the State or Central Govt. once he/she takes benefit from the Begum Hazrat Mahal National scholarship scheme.

Scholarship Amount:

A scholarship amount will be given for admission, tuition fee, and maintenance allowance.

Selection Procedure:

The selection process is completely based on the eligibility criteria of the student’s family’s annual income. The eligible candidate who has secured not less than 50% marks in their last examination.

How to Apply for Begum Hazrat Scholarship 2022-23?

The scholarship scheme is implemented through the NSP scholarship portal https://scholarships.gov.in. It is compulsory for all eligible students to apply online, fill out the application form and submit the necessary documents before the last date.

How to Check the Application Status Online?

  • Visit the NSP official website.
  • Click on ‘Student Login’
  • Enter your application Id & password.
  • Then click on “Check Your Status.

BHMNS Scholarship Renewal:

The student should submit the pass certificate with a minimum of 50% marks for scholarship renewal. Students must submit the scholarship renewal application every year. If the scholarship holder is found not eligible for scholarship renewal then he/she needs to apply for a fresh application for the next academic year.

Transfer of Amount:

The scholarship amount will be transferred/credited directly into the student’s bank account in direct benefit transfer mode. Any other payment mode from Maulana Azad Education Foundation is not acceptable in any case.
