There are various scholarship schemes is implemented by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi for the social-economic development of students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and Minorities. Online applications are invited through the official website https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in.

The Government of Delhi has increased the parent’s annual income limit. Due to the increase in parents’ annual income, the students who belong to minority communities would be benefited from getting a scholarship scheme. Delhi Government offers a merit scholarship to SC / ST / OBC / Minority students studying in VI class to XII class students getting at least 55% marks in the previous exam at the school level and 60% marks at the college level. Providing free stationery to the SC / ST / OBC / Minority students a number of Rs. 450/- to Rs. 750/- per annum class VI to class XII to buy stationery.

Delhi Scholarship Schemes:

  1. The tuition fee reimbursement for 1st to class 12th.
  2. Financial Assistance for stationery (1st to 12th class).
  3. Merit Scholarship for 1st to 12th class.
  4. Merit Scholarship for Professional and Technical Institutions.
  5. Dr.BR.Ambedkar State Toppers Award for professional and technical courses.
  6. Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC applicants studying in Delhi / outside Delhi.
  7. Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC students studying in class from 1st to 10th.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The students studying in class 1st to class 12th in whose parents’ annual income is not more than Rs.3,00,000/- from all sources.
• There are no minimum marks required for classes 1st to 8th.
• At least 50% marks is a must for 9th to 10th class students.
• The applicants studying in class I to class Vth will be eligible for reimbursement of tuition fees regardless of marks, but in the case of applicants studying in class 11th to 12th, reimbursement of tuition fees will be given only to those students scoring 60% marks and above.
• All applicants require at least 80% attendance.

Financial Assistance for Stationery (1st to 12th class):

  • 1st to 8th Class – Rs.3,000/- PA
  • 9th to 10th Class – Rs.4,000/- PA
  • 11th to 12th Class – Rs.5,000/- PA

Merit Scholarship for 1st to 12th Class:

  • This scholarship scheme is eligible for students studying 1st-12th class from any recognized school/college in Delhi.
  • Students whose parents’ income should not be more than Rs.3.00 lakh per annum for SC/ST/OBC category students.

Merit Scholarship for Professional and Technical Institutions:

  • Students must secure not less than 60% marks or above marks in the previous examination.
  • This scholarship scheme is eligible for pursuing any Degree Course / Diploma Course / PG Course or any Professional or Technical Course from any recognized Colleges or Institutes.

Dr.BR.Ambedkar State Toppers Award:

  • The scholarship award is given to the applicant, who tops amongst the SC/ST/OBC/Min community.
  • Rs.25,000/- will be given to each topper at the graduation level.
  • The college and university may ensure that all eligible and deserving applicants are covered under this scholarship scheme.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC:

  • The scholarship is applicable only to SC/ST/OBC students of Delhi.
  • Whose parent’s annual income is not more than 2.5 lakh for SC/ST and Rs.1.5 lakh for OBC from all sources?
  • Students who are pursuing their studies in any Govt. recognized in Delhi or outside Delhi for the year.
  • The eligibility of the students will be provided and scholarships will be given as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
  • It’s a centrally sponsored scholarship by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC:

  • The scholarship is eligible only for SC/ST and OBC category students of Delhi.
  • Students studying in the 9th and 10th classes in any government-recognized or private schools.
  • Whose parent’s annual income is not more than Rs.2.5 lakh from all sources.
  • It’s a centrally sponsored scholarship by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

How to Apply Delhi Scholarship

How to Apply for Delhi Scholarship Online?

  • Visit the e-district official website https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in to apply online.
  • School applicants cannot apply for State as well as Central scholarships during the same academic year.
  • To apply for any scholarship, an Aadhaar card of the student is a must.

The students need to register in the district of the Government of Delhi portal by using their Aadhaar card number or electoral photo identity card and selecting the scholarship and entering the details.

If the student is already a registered user on the e-district website, then he/she should log in instead of registering for scholarship renewal. The student should fill out the application form properly and upload the recent photo and required certificates as per the scheme.

All the details of students will be forwarded to the respective Schools and Universities. The Head of Schools or Universities will examine the scholar’s details and approve the applicant’s records. Applicants should take a printout of their online application form and keep it for further reference.

The income certificate issued by any competent authority is a mandatory requirement for applying to any scholarship scheme for 2021-22. Where the documents are uploaded, the income certificate shall also be required to be uploaded on the National Scholarship Portal.

In all other cases, where uploading of documents is not required, the income certificate shall be produced before the school/institute for verification of the applicant’s online application.

The students studying outside Delhi may also apply online and take a hard copy (printout) of the application form and get it verified by the college/institute. The students may download the formats online.

Students should also submit a printout of the application form along with necessary documents to the Deputy Director (Scholarship), Department for the Welfare of SC, ST, OBC B-Block, Vikas Bhawan, 2nd Floor, IP Estate, New-Delhi-110002.

How to Check the Application Status?

  • Visit the official website https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in.
  • Click on “Track your Application”.
  • Select the Department “SC / ST welfare department”.
  • Select the scholarship scheme.
  • Enter your application number.
  • Enter the student’s full name.
  • Type the verification code.
  • Then click on the “Search” button to get the application status.
