ADIP Scheme for Disabled Persons for Aids and Appliances
ADIP Scheme of assistance to disabled persons for the purchase of aids and appliances. The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India provides aids and appliances to disabled persons at minimum costs.
Various surveys conducted from time to time in India have made it clear that India has a large number of disabled persons and many of them are from low-income groups. With help of modern technology, there are a number of aids that can reduce the effects of disabilities such as a wheelchair, crutch, brace, splint, and artificial limb can improve the mobility of the disabled person.
A powerful hearing aid can give a person some residual hearing and helps to carry on many of their activities of daily living. Similarly, low vision aides can also help disabled persons to read, write, print, and undertake all other activities of daily living. A huge number of disabled persons are unable to take the benefits and advantage of these appliances’ lack of financial income to purchase them.
Therefore, the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India provides aid and appliances within their reach. The ADIP scheme has been designed in such a way that it becomes user-friendly and disabled persons are not deprived of such aids and appliances.

ADIP Scheme Objectives:
The scholarship’s aim is to help disabled persons by providing some suitable, durable, modern, and scientifically manufactured aids/appliances within their reach.
According to the latest survey, there are 16 million people with different types of disabilities in India that restrict them from economic and social growth.
ADIP Scheme Cost of Aids and Appliances:

ADIP Scheme Scope:
The scholarship scheme will be implemented by the agencies and will be provided with financial support to purchase, fabricate, and distribute such aids and appliances. The Agencies will take care of arrangements for the aids and appliances that are distributed under the ADIP scheme.
The scope of the ADIP scheme includes the use of mass media, workshops, and exhibitions for the exchange of useful information and for promoting awareness. It also includes ambit medical or surgical correction that is essential prior to the fitting of aids/appliances.
Eligibility Criteria:
- An Indian citizens of all ages.
- Achieving an 40 percent disability Certificate.
- A monthly income from any source not in excess of Rs.30,000per month.
- For dependents parents or guardians, income not over the sum of Rs. 30,000/- per month.
- The child has not received any assistance during the last three years to achieve the same goal in any form. In the case of children who are less than 12 years old the maximum period for assistance will be one year.
How to Apply?
Through Camp Activity:
Implementing agencies will conduct evaluation of the beneficiaries on camps at district level and then distribution camps.
Through Headquarter Activity:
The National Institutes and other implementing agencies will make use of the funds to offer services to those who qualify come to their headquarters or respective Regional Centres
Through Common Service Centres (CSCs):
The Department will sign an agreement with CSCs that operate across the nation on Block, Taluka, Gram Panchayat levels to register beneficiaries who require aids and assistive devices in the ADIP Scheme.
Through Mobile App:
In order to assist recipients in obtaining aids and assistive devices, an app will be released by the Department that will allow the beneficiaries to make requests for assistive devices(new registrations) or repairs to current devices (existing customer). The requests that are received via this app are collated by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and then sent to the implementing agency closest to the home for the person who is the recipient.
ADIP Web Portal:
The portal will allow PwDs online to provide aids and assistive devices to eligible beneficiaries within six months of the date of registration through the Portal.
Process for Granting Aid:
The organizations must submit their application according to the format that is prescribed for consideration by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) through the the concerned State Government or UT Administration.
The financial assistance to follow will be approved after receiving the Utilization Certificate and any other documents, as required. The recommending authority will perform a sample check of beneficiaries on the use of grants-in-aid through the Implementing Agency.

Atal Pension Yojana (APY) For Unorganised Sector [2024]
The Atal Pension Yojana (APY) is a government-backed pension scheme designed for workers in the unorganized sector who lack statutory pension plans. The scheme, launched in 2015, encourages people to save for their retirement and provides financial stability in old age. It offers a guaranteed pension, tax benefits, death benefits, and an exit option, making it an attractive option for those in the informal sector.
Atal Pension Yojana Eligibility, and Benefits:
- The Atal Pension Yojana is a pension scheme for employees in the unorganized sector who do not have statutory pension plans.
- The scheme is open to Indian citizens between 18 and 40 years old who have a savings account and an Aadhaar card.
- APY offers a guaranteed pension of Rs.1,000-5,000 per month from age 60, based on the contributor’s monthly payment.
- The scheme provides death benefits, where the spouse receives the pension, and the nominee gets the corpus if both subscriber and spouse pass away.
- There is an option for early exit after 10 years with accumulated corpus and interest.
- APY is also available to private sector employees, and contributions can be made through automatic debit from the linked bank account.
- Failure to contribute regularly results in penalties, ranging from Re. 1 to Rs. 10 per month, depending on the contribution amount.

Namo Drone Didi Yojana Provides 15,000 Women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs)
Namo Drone Didi Yojana, launched by the Government of India, aims to empower rural women by providing them with agricultural drones and the necessary training to operate them. This initiative under the Sashakt Nari Viksit Bharat program seeks to modernize agricultural practices, increase productivity, and contribute to the new agricultural revolution in India. The scheme focuses on enhancing the financial autonomy and economic empowerment of women, especially those from lower economic groups, through the use of drone technology.
- Objective:
- Help rural women by giving them agricultural drones and training.
- Update farming methods to boost productivity.
- The Namo Drone Didi scheme provides 15,000 women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs) with agricultural drones and training to perform tasks such as crop monitoring, fertilizer spraying, and seed sowing.
- The scheme is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Rural Development, and the Department of Fertilizers to ensure holistic interventions and efficient implementation.
- The selection of eligible SHGs and feasible clusters is based on criteria to maximize the impact of the scheme, with financial assistance and loans provided to the SHGs for drone purchases.
- Lead Fertilizer Companies act as intermediaries, procuring drones and transferring ownership to the SHGs, while also promoting the use of Nano Fertilizers.

PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana 2024 – Sustainable Energy to Every Household
In order to further sustainable development and people’s well-being the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, aims to light up 1 crore households by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month.
The Government of India launched the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (Prime Minister’s Solar Home: Free Electricity Scheme) on February 13, 2024. The objective of this scheme is to install rooftop solar power plants in one crore (10 million) households across the country. The total financial outlay for this initiative is Rs. 75,021 crore (approximately $10.3 billion).
The PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a significant step towards the Government of India’s goal of promoting renewable energy and reducing the country’s reliance on fossil fuels. By installing rooftop solar plants in one crore households, the scheme aims to increase the adoption of clean energy and improve the energy access for millions of people across India.
The scheme is designed to provide free electricity to the beneficiary households, making it accessible and affordable for a large section of the population. The scheme would be implemented through the National Portal https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in. The subsidy/CFA under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana would be applicable to all applications submitted on the portal on or after 13-02-2024.

Objective of PM – Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana:
Goal: Get 1 crore (100 million) homes to use solar power on their roofs.
Help: Provide free or low-cost electricity to 1 crore (100 million) homes, up to 300 units of electricity per month, by installing solar panels on their roofs.
Electricity Generation: The installed solar power will produce 1,000 billion units of renewable electricity. This will help reduce 720 million tons of carbon dioxide (a harmful gas) over the 25-year lifetime of the solar projects.
Building the Solar Ecosystem: Develop everything needed to make solar power work, like new laws, factories to make solar parts, a network of suppliers, and places to maintain and repair the solar systems.
Benefits: Boost the local economy, create more jobs, and make the country’s energy supply more secure.
