The main activities of the Social Defence Directorate are for with the welfare and rehabilitation of the weaker sections of the society like Disabled (Blind, Deaf, Weak Sighted, Bone Deficiency, Mental Deficiency, Mental illness) orphans, teenagers, and youths who have turned in illegal activities and the girls who have become prey to the circumstances, physically and mentally handicapped children & adults, old aged persons and beggars.

Scheme for Disabled Person

Eligibility for Disabled ID Card:

  • The persons must be above 40% handicapped.
  • Deaf, Blind, Mentally Retarded whose brilliance rate is 70% (Seventy) or below.
  • Must be a permanent resident of the State of Gujarat.

Benefits of this Scheme:

This scheme provides ID Cards to disabled persons to avail the benefits of Government Schemes in India.

Required Documents:

  • Required Documents to be attached with the Form for Disabled Identity Cards
  • Certificate from Doctor showing percentage of handicappers
  • 2 (Two) Stamp Size Photograph
  • Copy of Ration Card
  • Permanent Resident proof (Gujarat State)
  • Blood Group Certificate
  • Income Proof Certificate
  • Application forms which are available free from the District Social Security Department and submit to the Department
  • Once they verified the documents they will provide you with the disable Identity card
