The Prime Minister Scholarship (PMS) Scheme, given to the dependent wards and widows of Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles personnel killed/disabled in action or died for Govt. services, etc. of Rs. 3000/-per month for the girls and Rs. 2500 per month to the boys.
The Hon’ble PM has approved extending the reward of this scheme to the wards of police personnel All the selected candidates under this category will be given a personal letter from the PM in their native appropriate language.
Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme under the support of the NDF (National Defence Fund) was introduced to help and encourage to pursue of technical & professional education for the dependents of Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles Personnel.
The guidelines and other related information for submitting scholarship applications online for the year 2023-24 are given below. Eligible applicants are requested to apply for the scholarship grant on or before the last date given by the officials. The candidates should read the complete details carefully before applying online.

Scholarship Name: Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles.
1. Dependants of deceased Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) & Assam -Rifles personnel died in election duty, Dependants of personnel disabled due to causes regarded to Government service.
2. Dependants of retired and serving Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles personnel. (Below Officer Rank).
3. Pursuing 1st class professional degree courses in the fields of Engg, Medicine, Veterinary, BBA degree, Dental, B.C.A, B. Pharma, B.SC, MBA, and MCA, etc.
4. Candidates must obtain at least 60% marks in MEQ to become eligible for a PMSS scholarship.
5. For application renewal, it is compulsory to pass each year with 50% marks.
6. One year grace period, if there is a delay on the part of applicants for submission of scholarship renewal applications.
7. All the applications received from the eligible candidates under the new category will be selected on the basis of the order of preference.
8. This scholarship scheme is applicable to 2 children of the same family.
9. The candidates irrespective of their marital status are eligible to apply for PMSS.
10. Applicants must fill out the complete application and attach the required scanned documents otherwise your application will be rejected.
11. Candidate who does not belong to the A to G category are not eligible to apply online.
12. The PM scholarship scheme is only for dependant wards and widows of CAPFs & AR personnel.
13. Candidates studying professional courses through distance learning are not eligible.
14. Candidates who have already taken benefit of other scholarships and financial support are also not eligible to apply.
15. Candidates who have already availing benefits under PMSS.
16. Candidates who are studying Abroad.
17. Change of course or college by the selected candidates and get new admission in the following year their scholarship will be rejected forever.
No. of Scholarship:
A total of 2000 (Two Thousand) scholarships will be given equally to boys and girls under this scheme each year in addition to the application renewal of last year.
1 to 5 years (Depending on the course and the respective regulatory body).

The amount of scholarship under this scheme has been enhanced to Rs. 3000/- per month for girls and Rs. 2500/- per month for boys.

Bank Account:
Candidates who fulfilled the eligibility conditions and applied for the PM scholarship scheme must have a valid bank account to receive the scholarship amount directly into his/her account.
Scholarship Payment:
The payment of scholarships under the PMS 2023-24 onwards for selected candidates under fresh or renewal categories would be credited directly to their bank account. The beneficiary bank account should be linked with their Aadhar card. Candidates must fill in the bank details correctly.
How to Apply PMSS for CAPF & Assam Rifles?
Candidates need to apply online only from the National Scholarship Portal website scholarships.gov.in and upload the required documents on the NSP website, 31st December 2023 is the last date to apply online for fresh and renewal applications.
