Civil Services Exam:

UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most coveted examinations in India. Civil Services Exam is also referred as IAS exam. The Civil Services Exam is a nationwide competitive examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the various Civil Services of the Government of India, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and among others.

Every year the notification for Civil Services Exam is made by UPSC. The notification is carried out usually in the month of April. Preliminary examinations are held in May. Mains examinations are held in September.

Interview or Personality Test is held in February in subsequent year. While final results are declared after two months. As a result the whole cycle from notification to final result is of about one and half years.
