The JEE Main examination is knocking at the door and the students who are planning to appear for this examination must take it seriously because it is the gateway for various other entrance examinations such as NITs, IITs, CFIS, and SFIs.

The JEE Main was formerly known as AIEEE and is conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). The JEE Main exam is needed to seek admission in the different undergraduate engineering courses at IIITs, NITs & other deemed technical institutions in the country.

The JEE Main result marks would determine the 60 percent of admission qualification in the above-mentioned technical universities in the country. The other 40 percent would be decided by the class XII marks of the candidates.

The scores obtained in JEE Main also determine the eligibility factor for appearing in JEE Advanced test which is an essential test for candidates looking for admission to undergraduate programs. Candidates must pay attention to the eligibility criteria that the candidate must pass his higher secondary examination.

As per the records, around 6.8 lakhs of candidates sat for the JEE Main exam this year. Among them, about 3 lakhs students improved their performance. According to the National Testing Agency, a total of 9.3 lakhs students had registered for JEE Main.

The candidates who are willing to appear for the JEE Main examination can either choose the online examination or the written examination. There will be two papers and the first paper will be for B.E./B. Tech courses where the candidate will have to answer all the questions online.

The second paper is for B.Arch and B.Planning courses the candidate will be given a regular question paper and an answer sheet and the candidate will be given three hours to complete the whole paper. From next year an additional Paper – paper number 3 is being introduced separately for B.Planning courses.
