Periyar University has published an exam syllabus online students can easily download the complete syllabus online from the official website.

The course of the study for the degree shall consist of (a) Part I comprising three written papers according to the syllabus prescribed from time to time and (b) Part II Dissertation.

Part I shall consist of Paper I Research Methodology and Paper-II Advanced Paper on the main subject and a third Paper – Paper III which shall be the Guide Paper relating to the proposed Dissertation conducted internally by the College/Departments.
