About University:
The University has over 150 affiliated colleges. The role of the University is in making the course structure and the study material for the courses, holding the examinations, and then making and computation of the result and thereafter issuing the certificates.
The daily administration of the affiliated colleges is not the responsibility of the University and the Institutes have to manage all daily affairs on their own. All the affiliated colleges come under its jurisdiction and purview, there are 60 colleges for Arts and Science.
Besides these, there are 17 Engineering Colleges, 2 Law colleges, 9 MBA/MCA Colleges, 4 Medical Colleges, 37 Teacher Training Colleges, 2 Homeopathy Colleges, 4 Ayurveda colleges, one Siddha Medical College, 10 Nursing Colleges, 3 Dental colleges, 4 Pharmacy Colleges, 2 Fine Arts Colleges, and a Music College. The University also has a National College of Physical Education which has an affiliation with it. There are more than 84,000 students in these colleges.
The University offers courses at the undergraduate level, post-graduate level, and doctoral level as well. There are various specializations that are offered under these programs as the University has 41 departments and 16 faculties. Most of the undergraduate level courses are of duration between 2-4 years.
There are various courses that are offered by the Kerala University at the Postgraduate and doctoral levels which the students can choose as per their area of education and their future plans. There are many faculties at the institutes and the colleges that come under the University and there are programs and courses in all the disciplines at various levels.
