Bihar is one of the largest and most populous states in India. Despite its size, Bihar is known for its low literacy rates and high poverty levels. To help improve the education and economic prospects of the state’s residents, the Bihar government has introduced various scholarship schemes for students.
The government of Bihar is providing Rs.10,000/- for graduates, and Rs.50,000/- for 12 pass students. In this article, we will discuss two of these schemes:
The Bihar Scholarship for Graduates (Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana Madhyamik + 2) is a government-funded scholarship that aims to provide financial assistance to students from economically weaker sections of society who have completed their graduation. The scholarship is open to students who have completed their graduation from a recognized university and are pursuing postgraduate studies.
The scholarship covers the tuition fees, examination fees, and other academic expenses of the students. The amount of the scholarship varies based on the course and the institution. The scholarship is awarded for a maximum of two years and is subject to satisfactory academic progress.
To be eligible for the Bihar Scholarship for Graduates, the applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar and belong to a family whose annual income does not exceed a certain threshold. The applicant must have also secured admission to a recognized postgraduate course.
The 12th Pass Girls Scholarship (Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana Madhyamik Snatak) is another government-funded scholarship that aims to provide financial assistance to girls who have completed their 12th grade and wish to pursue higher education. The scholarship is open to girls from economically weaker sections of society who have passed their 12th-grade examinations with a minimum of 60% marks.
The scholarship covers the tuition fees, examination fees, and other academic expenses of the students. The amount of the scholarship varies based on the course and the institution. The scholarship is awarded for a maximum of three years and is subject to satisfactory academic progress.
To be eligible for the 12th Pass Girls Scholarship, the applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar and belong to a family whose annual income does not exceed a certain threshold. The applicant must have also secured admission to a recognized undergraduate course.
Selection Process:
The selection process for both scholarships is based on the applicant’s academic merit and financial need. The scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the funds allocated for the scheme are exhausted.
Application Process:
The application process for both scholarships is conducted online through the Bihar Scholarship Portal. Applicants must register on the portal and provide their personal and academic details. They must also upload scanned copies of their documents, such as proof of income, mark sheets, and admission letters.
