Jiwaji University (JU) is a young university compared to other academic institutions situated in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh India. It was established on May 23, 1964 under Government Ordinance no. 15 of 1963 with Sarvapelli Radhakrishnan, who was the second President of India, laying down its foundation stone on December 11, 1964.

It currently offers higher learning education courses to the six districts of Chambal Division and Gwalior namely: Bhind, Guna, Gwalior, Datia and Shivpuri. Students can check and download all the syllabus online from the JU official website or from the link given below.

About University:
During its early years Jiwaji University had only 29 affiliated colleges pioneering with the Schools of Studies in Zoology and Botany in the academic year 1966-1967.

This was soon followed by the Schools of Studies in Chemistry, Physics, Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology which started functioning in the year 1969 to 1970.

The rest of the colleges sprouted one by one, namely: The School of Studies in Economics and Mathematics in the year 1978 to 1979, School of Studies in Commerce in the year 1980 – 1981, School of Biochemistry in the year 1986 – 1987, the School of Library Science and Information Science in the year 1986 and the School of Studies in Earth Science in 1991. Presently, Jiwaji University has more than 300 affiliated colleges.
