In the Vikramaditya scholarship scheme, students are given free education at the undergraduate level, who have obtained more than 60 percent marks in the 12th board exam, and their parent’s annual income is not more than the given limits from all sources.
The objective of the scheme is to provide free higher education at the undergraduate level to the general poor students who live below the poverty line. Despite being meritorious and very talented, many students who belong to the general category from very poor families were unable to continue higher qualifications due to financial conditions.
Candidates of the general category who are living below the poverty line (BPL) students should apply to college with all the education to pursue a higher qualification absolutely free. The Vikramaditya scholarship yojana is only applicable to students of the gen category who complete their board of intermediate examination with a minimum of 60% marks.
Vikramaditya Nishulk Shiksha Yojna or free education scholarship scheme has been implemented by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh on the recommendation of the Commission, constituting a general poverty line welfare commission in the direction of development and welfare of poor families of the general category while eliminating discrimination among the poor.

Under this scheme every year, students from the general category need to submit their mark sheets, Samagra ID, photo, Aadhaar card, income proof certificate, caste certificate, domicile certificate, and bank account details.

Objectives of the Scheme:
This scheme is for the poor students of the general category whose parents’ annual income is not more than Rs.120000/- for higher education or Rs.54000/- for graduation.
The scheme has been started in the session 2008-09. Under this scheme, students are free from the education fee. Under this scheme, till now a number of students have benefitted through this scheme.
Eligibility Criteria for Vikramaditya Scheme:
Students should be residents of Madhya Pradesh state.
Applicants must belong to the general category to apply to Vikramaditya Nishulk Shiksha Yojana.
The student’s parents/guardian’s annual income should not be more than Rs.42000/- from all sources.
Should pass Intermediate (12th) class with not less than 60% marks.
