Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minorities 2022-23

The scholarship scheme is to be awarded for studies all over India in a Govt or private schools, colleges, institutions, and universities.

It also covers the technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes or Centers affiliated with the NCVT of classes XI and XII standards.

The scholarships are open to nationals of India. 30th November 2022 is the last date to apply for fresh and renewal applications online or offline.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. The PMS will be awarded to those students who have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the previous exam.
  2. The annual income of their parents or guardians shall not exceed Rs.2 lakh per year.
  3. Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Parsis, and Zoroastrians have come under minority communities.
  4. A student under this scheme will not avail of another scholarship.
  5. 30% (Thirty Percent) of scholarships will be reserved for girls in case of the non-availability of girls candidates in that community the scholarship is transferable to the boy student in the same community.
  6. Not more than 2 (Two) students from the family.
  7. The students must be regular in attendance.

Selection Process:

There are a fixed number of scholarships for minority students. Students from BPL (Below Poverty Line) families, having the lowest income shall be given preference in ascending order.

Duration:

A scholarship scheme for minority students will be provided for the entire course but the maintenance allowance will be given for 10 months only.

How to Apply for PMS Scholarship for Minorities Online?

Students can apply and submit PMS scholarship applications online at NSP’s official website i.e https://scholarships.gov.in.

Scholarship Renewal 2022-23:

The scheme once awarded can be renewed during the next year of the course on the basis of a certificate but the student must secure not less than 50% marks in the final examination.

Documents Needed:

  • Copy of application in the prescribed form separate for ‘fresh’ and for “renewal”.
  • Passport-size photograph with signatures.
  • Attested copies of documents such as diplomas, degrees, or any other.
  • Income certificate by the self-employed parents or guardians.
  • Residence proof certificate.
