Zoological Park is the right place to choose for an educational trip for your children. A trip to the zoo is a chance to give life to Children’s imagination and build an emotional connection with animals. It enables children to learn about animals effectively, fosters cognitive development, and promotes empathy and compassion. Along with gaining knowledge, they would love to have a day out from the stressful school days.

Nehru Zoological Park is spread over 380 acres of land and accommodates around 193 species of animals, birds, and reptiles. You can also find many indigenous animals such as the Indian rhino, Asiatic lion, Bengal tiger, Panther, Gaur, Indian elephant, Slender loris, and Python, as well as Deer, Antelopes, and Birds. There is also an aquarium, dino park, butterfly park, and tortoise house. Since the park is situated near the mir alam tank at 600 acres, many migratory birds are attracted to the place. This adds up to the attraction of the zoo.

The most exciting part of the zoo is the Safari. You can have an amazing Safari for Lion, Asian Bears, and Bison. You can even have a look at the entire Zoo from a toy train, this is perfect for those who can’t walk all the way around. The dino park and butterfly park are not available after the evening. But you can still enjoy the Aquatic collection in the aquariums and nocturnal animals. You can also find a museum on your tour of the zoo. Various exhibitions are held on biodiversity conservation, panel boards with interactive calls of different animals, and evidence of animals such as their pug mark, feathers, etc.

The authorities are also putting efforts to spread more knowledge about the conservation of wildlife. Therefore, various educational events are conducted weekly. Some of the programs that are conducted at the park are Tiger talk (Tuesday), elephant talk (Wednesday), canine classes (Thursday), bird school (Friday), crocodile coaching (Saturday), and snake awareness shows (Sunday).

Nehru Zoological Park is open for adoptions. Adoption is fun and you can adopt any animal big or small. By adopting your favorite animal, you will contribute towards feeding of the animal for one full year (or period of adoption). The adoption fees not only go to the feeding but also towards the protection of endangered species.
