Mukhya Mantri Gyandeep Yojna / Education Loan Himachal Pradesh 2021

The state government has started a new “Mukhya Mantri Gyandeep Yojna” for all those Himachali Bonafide students who want to avail of educational loans, to pursue professional/technical courses, and higher education courses from any recognized institutions from any bank.

The UCO Bank (United Commercial Bank) will be the nodal bank for this scheme. Under this interest subsidy scheme, Himachali students can avail themselves up to the maximum of Rs.10 lakh for pursuing higher studies. The interest subsidy of 4% per annum on this education loan will be allowed.

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial support to Himachali students for pursuing higher education. Therefore, it is informed to all the Himachali students to avail the benefit of the scheme Mukhya Mantri Gyandeep Yojna directly from any bank.

Mukhya Mantri Gyandeep Yojna

The objective of the Scheme:

Providing financial support in the form of interest subsidy on Education Loans availed from Banks by Himachali Students for pursuing Higher Education in India and Abroad. The scheme shall be applicable for educational loans disbursed from the academic year 2021-22 irrespective of the date of sanction of the education loan.

Eligibility Criteria for MMGY:

  • The student must be a Bonafide Himachali. A copy of the certificate of Bonafide Himachali will be submitted by the student to the concerned Bank/Branch.
  • Students can avail of the Education Loan from any Bank for pursuing professional/technical courses and Higher Education courses from recognized institutions in India.
  • Interest subsidy is admissible on Education loans availed up to the maximum of Rs. 10 (ten lakh only) for pursuing Higher Studies in India.

Interest Subsidy: 

Interest subsidy to the extent of 4% p.a. on Education Loan will be allowed. The interest subsidy shall be available to eligible students only if no other interest subsidy on Education Loans is availed under any other scheme of State Government/Government of India.

How to Apply Mukhya Mantri Gyandeep Yojna: 

Candidates may apply for education through any bank directly or you can also apply from the education department.
