Apply Maharashtra MCM Scholarship Scheme (2022-23) for Minority

Merit cum means scholarship (MCM) scheme for students belonging to minority communities. The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.

The main objective is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students belonging to minority communities and supports them to pursue technical and professional courses.

Students are advised to go through the guidelines before filling online the complete details are available on NSP https://scholarships.gov.in. 30th November 2022 is the last date for submitting online fresh and renewal scholarship applications online.

Any eligible students of the state of Maharashtra who belongs to the minority community can apply for the scholarship. The Maharashtra MCM scholarship notification will be issued by the State Govt and UT through ads in various newspapers and other media.

Candidates who get a seat in a college to study technical or professional courses, on the basis of a competitive exam are eligible for the Merit-cum means scholarship. The scholarship will be renewed for next year only if the student has secured a minimum of 50% marks in the examination.

The income proof certificate is mandatory for applying scholarship for the academic year 2020-21. You have to produce it before the college or institute for verification purposes on NSP Portal. The last date of applying for the fresh/renewal scholarship application may be extended as per the government notification.

Before filling application form students has to ensure that the name on the account number should be the same as the student’s name on the application form. The account number and IFSC Code should be correct.

Your Aadhaar card should be linked to your bank account. Applicants can check the current status (Accepted / Rejected) of the filled application form for minority scholarship by using the Application ID.

Applicant needs to scan their documents and upload them online while applying. After successful submission of the online application form, applicants should take a take printout for future reference.

If at any stage, it is found that the information given by the student is false/not true, all the benefits given to the student under the scheme of “scholarship Scheme for Pursuing Technical and Professional Studies to the students belonging to Minority Communities” could be withdrawn and legal action as the deemed fit may be taken against the student.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The student should be a resident of Maharashtra State.
  • Students should be bonafide students of the college.
  • Admission should be made through CET or the student must secure at least 50% marks.
  • Students are not eligible to avail of any other scholarship for the same course.
  • The annual income of the student’s family should not exceed 2.50 Lakh from all sources.
  • 30% of scholarship awards are reserved for female students.

How to Apply for the Maharashtra MCM Scholarship?

How to apply for fresh or renew scholarship application online by the student. After the successful submission students need to submit the hard copy of the application form to the concerned college/institute with all the necessary documents.

A) Fresh Application:

  • Visit the official website www.scholarships.gov.in to log in.
  • Click “New User” and register.
  • After registration, you will get an ID.
  • Login using application ID.
  • Click “Apply for Fresh”.
  • Then fill out the application form and upload all the necessary documents.

B) Renewal Application:

  • Visit the official website www.scholarships.gov.in.
  • Click on “Apply for Renewal”.
  • Login using the same application ID.
  • Fill out the application form and upload all the necessary documents.
