Apply J.C. Bose National Fellowship 2021-22
Applications are invited for J.C. Bose National Fellowship. The fellowships are meant to find active scientists and engineers for their great performance work and contributions.
This fellowship is awarded to brilliant and active scientists in remembrance of their exceptional performance. The tenure of the fellowship may be extended for another 05 years for the 2nd term, based on the performances of the J C fellows in the 1st term duration of their fellowship.

This scheme mainly caters to award the active scientists in recognition to encourage them to continue delivering outstanding performance. The nominations for Bose fellowship 2021-22 are accepted all year and that is why there is no last date to submit the nomination.
The research grant is enhanced from Rs.15,00 lakh per annum and overheads Rs.1,00 lakh per annum. These revised research grant norms become effective from 1st October 2016, for all the J C Bose fellows.
The fellow should not avail of any other fellowship. Financial support will be extended to him/her for research as per the terms and conditions of the grant throughout the duration of the fellowship.
The financial papers (statement of expenditure and utilization certificate) of his/her fellowship will be sent to SERB after the completion of each financial year.

The fellowship may be renewed after a period of 5 years based on careful evaluation of research performance during the period of the fellowship.
It is clarified that the upper age limit for availing of the J C Bose fellowship is 68 years. Should the fellow superannuate during the tenure of the fellowship, the fellowship can be continued for only that part of the tenure if a host institute is available.

The scientific fellowship is given to very selective students and it is very specific at choosing the researchers to be awarded. Under this scheme, all areas of science researches (in the broadest categories) are covered for consideration under the fellowship program.
The active scientists can apply for this fellowship if have the following eligibility criteria:
Eligibility:
- Only for Indian nationals.
- One should complete his/her Ph.D. in science and engineering from any recognized institute in India.
- Not be more than 68 years.
- For those people who have a good track record from their research and publications.
- The applicant should have a regular post in any organization.
- The applicant must be engaged in research.
- Should not avail any other fellowship other than this.
- Certified that the university/institute welcomes the participation of Dr. Prof. as J. C. Bose fellow.
- Certified that necessary R&D, administrative, and financial support will be extended to him/her for research as per the terms and conditions of the grant throughout the duration of the fellowship.
Scope: Any areas of science will be covered by this fellowship.
Selection: Selection of the J.C. Bose fellowship will be made occasionally by a committee appointed for this purpose.
Fellowship Amount: Rs.25,000/- P.M and in addition, every fellow receives a contingency amount of Rs.10 lakh P.A for the research grant.
Duration: Initially for 5 years, extendable for more than 5 years based on performance (maximum ten years).
