Holiday Declared for Schools, & Colleges in Southern Tamil Nadu

Heavy Rains

The IMD has forecast heavy rain in different parts of Tamil Nadu. They’re pointing fingers at a cyclonic circulation that started in the Equatorial Indian Ocean, made its way to the southwest Bay of Bengal near the south Sri Lanka coast, and is now camping out over the Comorin area and its surroundings.

The southern districts of Tamil Nadu have been getting soaked since early Sunday morning. Looking ahead to Monday, we can expect light to moderate rain in many spots in South Tamil Nadu. There might be a bit of rain in a couple of places in North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal too. But buckle up for heavy to very heavy rain in one or two places in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Tenkasi districts of Tamil Nadu.

As we move into Tuesday, the forecast is calling for more of the same. Light to moderate rain might show up in a few places in South Tamil Nadu, with a chance of rain in one or two spots in North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Brace yourself for some thunderstorms and lightning in one or two places as well. Stay dry!
