CCRT Award of Junior and Senior Fellowship 2022-23

Online applications are invited scheme for the award of fellowship to outstanding persons in the field of culture by CCRT, Ministry of Culture, Government of India for the award of junior and senior fellowships for undertaking research-oriented projects in the field of Performing, Literary, Plastic Arts and New Areas related to culture.

The scheme of awarding fellowships to outstanding persons in various creative fields of culture is intended to fill this gap. The scheme would also cover artists in rural/tribal areas. The fellowships are awarded for undertaking research-oriented projects.

The applicant should provide evidence of his/her capabilities in undertaking the project. The Fellowships are not intended for providing training, conducting workshops, and seminars, documenting memoirs/or writing autobiographies, fiction, etc.

There are 200 junior and 200 senior fellowships for each block year for example 400 juniors and 400 seniors fellowships are available. One can apply online for both years separately, if eligible.

CCRT Scope:

This scheme seeks to give assistance to young artists of outstanding promise for advanced training within India in the field of Indian Classical Music, Indian Classical Dance, Theatre, Mime, Visual art, Folk, Traditional and Indigenous Arts, and Light Classical Music.

Number of Fellowships:

The number of fellowships will be up to 400 each year. These are of two types, namely, senior and junior fellowships.

Fellowship Amount:

Senior Fellowships: Rs.20,000/- each per month for artists in the age group above 40 years.
Junior Fellowships: Rs.10,000/- each per month for the artists in the age group of 25-40 years.

Duration: Will be two years

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant for senior fellowship should not be the recipient of a pension from the Ministry of Culture under the scheme for grant of financial assistance to artists in indigent circumstances.
  • An applicant should not have availed of the same fellowship earlier. However, an applicant who had been awarded a Junior Fellowship can apply for a Senior Fellowship, provided 5 years have elapsed after the closure of the earlier project.
  • Graduation is the minimum educational qualification for applicants in the fields/areas listed in Para II (b) of the Scheme.

How to Apply for CCRT Fellowship Online?

Applications for the award for the fellowship will be invited every year, through advertisement. Applicants are required to submit online applications on the Website of the Ministry i.e. www.indiaculture.nic.in or CCRT i.e. www.ccrtindia.gov.in.

  • Visit www.indiaculture.nic.in.
  • Click on the MOC schemes application.
  • Click on registration.
  • Fill up the application form.
  • Get Username and Password to login.
  • Go to the current scheme status.
  • Click on the appropriate scheme.
  • Fill up the form and submit it.

Documents Needed:

  • Copies of Education Qualifications
  • Copy of the Matriculation or equivalent certificate
  • One Passport size photo

In the field of Painting, Sculpture and Applied Arts should bring copies of photographs of the original works. The minimum qualification for Visual Arts is BFA or equivalent. A separate online application should be submitted for each field if the candidate wants to apply for more than one field.

As the scholarships are awarded for advanced training, the candidates should have undergone a minimum of 5 years of training with their Gurus/Institutes. The certificates to this effect duly signed by the present Guru/ Institute and former Guru/ Institute (if any) should be submitted along with the application.
