The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has opened the window of opportunities for meritorious single girl children. This merit scholarship is aimed at encouraging parents to promote education among girls.
Students who have passed the class Xth CBSE examination with 60% or above marks and aim to continue further education can apply for this scholarship scheme online at CBSE’s official website www.cbse.gov.in.
The number of scholarships offered shall be variable for a particular year but the authority will provide the scholarships to all single girl students. As per the competent authority’s approval and a statement from CBSE notification.
CBSE has invited applications for those pursuing plus two courses, and the scholarship will be awarded on the basis of marks scored in the class Xth examination. If you are eligible for this special scheme then apply on or before the last date.

Eligibility Criteria:
The applicant should be the Indian national origin and have secured 60% or more marks in the CBSE 10th class examination.
The student shall be pursuing any of the plus two courses scholarship will not be awarded if the student chooses to discontinue the studies. Therefore, enrollment in Class XI in an affiliated school is mandatory.
The tuition fee should fee during the academic year should not be more than Rs. 1,500 per month.
The NRI CBSE students are also eligible to apply for the scholarship, as long as they are the ‘only child of their parents, and the tuition fee doesn’t exceed Rs. 6000/- per month.
Regularity in attendance and good conduct are required for scholarship continuance.
For the next two academic years (Class XI and XII), the total enhancement in tuition fees should not be more than 10% of the current tuition fee.
Students eligible under this scholarship scheme can avail of other stipend provided by the school she is studying in.
The scholarship amount awarded under this scheme shall be Rupees Five Hundred (Rs. 500/-) per month, and payment will be made through ECS or Demand Drafts.

How to Apply for CBSE Merit Scholarship Online?
1. The online application form can be found at this link www.cbse.gov.in.
2. All candidates are required to first enroll in their 10th class certificate and roll no. (printed on class 10th certificate).
3. While filling out the application, care should be taken that mandatory particulars are submitted.
4. After submitting the online form, write down your registration number and take a printout of the application.
5. Fill it out manually, paste your recent passport-size photo, and get an attestation from the school.
6. Prepare an affidavit form as per the instructions provided in “Guidelines Documents”.
7. Scan the manually filled application form and the affidavit (the size of the document should not be more than 1 MB).
8. Go to the “Upload Documents” section and upload these documents.
9. Print and send the signed confirmation to the given address: Scholarship Unit, CBSE, Shiksha Kendra,2 Community Center, Delhi-110092.

The award shall be rewarded after successful completion of Class XI and promotion to Class XII i.e. after a period of one year.
Renewal also depends on the marks secured in CBSE Class XI Examination, i.e. securing 50% or more marks in the 10th class is mandatory for continuation.
The discontinuation of studies will lead to the discontinuation of scholarships as well.
If a scholar chooses to change the school or give the chosen course, then she is subjected to getting prior approval from the Board for the continuance of the scholarship.
For both academic sessions (Class XI and Class XII), regularity in attendance and good conduct is mandatory for renewal.
The decision of the authority and Board will be binding and final for all matters.
An application once canceled shall not be accepted under any circumstances.
