Punjab Post-Matric Scholarship for SC & OBC (2022-23)

The main objective of the Punjab post-matric scholarship is to offer financial support to SC (scheduled caste) and OBC (Other Backward Class) students studying post-matric and help them to complete their education.

In this scheme, all SC and OBC students who are continuing their studies through regular and correspondence courses are eligible to apply for the award. As per govt rules, students should pay the tuition & exam fee at the time of taking new admission and this amount will be later on transferred to the student’s bank account.

Employed parents are required to obtain the income declaration certificate from their organization. Students can check the complete scholarship scheme details from Dr. Ambedkar’s scholarship portal, Punjab Govt. official website.

The Punjab scholarship for SC and OBC includes maintenance allowance, reimbursement nonrefundable fees, study tour charges, thesis printing charges, book allowance for corresponding students, and reader charges for blind students for the complete period of the course.

To be eligible under this scholarship scheme, the student has to secure a minimum of 60% marks in his/her previous annual examination. That is to say, 60% marks is a must for a student in class 10th or class 12th whichever is applicable, and thereafter 60% marks in the annual examination of relevant courses.

The students covered under eligibility criteria will have the first right towards the grant and only after completing the disbursal of the scholarship to the eligible students will be awarded a scholarship and so on.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The scholarship is eligible for SC & OBC students whose parent’s annual income is not more than Rs.2,50,000/- and Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum from all sources.
  • Students should get a minimum of 60% marks in the previous examination.
  • The scheme is for Indian nationals only.
  • This scholarship will be paid for post-matric courses pursued in recognized universities/institutes.
  • Only those students belong to SC and OBC categories.
  • Students who have passed the 10th or 12th class from any recognized Board are eligible.
  • A Student pursuing PG in medicine is eligible to apply but they are not allowed to practice during the duration of their PG course.
  • A student pursuing their education through correspondence are also eligible.
  • Students of the same parents are eligible to receive benefits.
  • Individuals under this scheme should not avail of any other scholarship benefit.
  • The Aadhaar card of the applicant must be linked with their bank account which the candidates have used for the PMS scheme of Punjab.

How to Apply for Punjab Post-Matric Scholarship Online?

The applicants who fulfill the mentioned eligibility criteria are requested to apply online from Dr. Ambedkar scholarship portal. Students should apply online on Dr. Ambedkar Portal http://www.scholarships.punjab.gov.in on or before the last date.

Scholarship Renewal 2022-23:

A minimum of 75% class attendance is required for the renewal of the application. Students do need to apply for the renewal of their application. Kindly contact the institute for your application process.

Punjab Freeship Card

How to Apply for Freeship Card?

  • To get a free Shipcard students must log in to the Dr. Ambedkar portal.
  • Once login the student should click on the “Apply for Freeship Card” link.
  • Enter the necessary details.
  • Upload the required documents.
  • Then click on the “Send for Approval” button to the Tehsil welfare officer.
  • Now your card is pending Approval.
  • Once it’s approved student can easily download their digitally signed Freeshipcard online.

Note: The freeship card is available only for SC students.

How to Check the Application Status Online?

  • You can check the application status online by visiting the official portal
  • Log in to the portal, and click on “ Edit, Lock, Print Application”.
  • Then select the “Track Status” option.
  • This will provide you with the current status of your scholarship application.

  • Last Date for the Authority: 31st Oct 2022
  • Last Date for Sanctioning Departments: 10th Nov 2022
