Every year nearly 20000 (Twenty Thousand) students get benefits through Merit-cum-Means (MCM) scholarship scheme that belongs to minority communities all over India and it’s based on the state-wise population of these minority communities.
The objective of the scholarship scheme is to provide financial assistance to poor students with outstanding academic performance who may face financial constraints in pursuing their education. The last date to apply for fresh and renewal applications online is 30th November 2023.
Students who get admission to a college to pursue technical or professional courses on the basis of a competitive exam will be eligible for scholarships.
Students without facing any competitive exam will also be eligible for scholarships.
Should secure not less than 50% marks in the previous exam at a higher secondary or graduation level.
A scholarship student under this scheme will not avail of another scholarship.
The annual income of the parents or guardians of the student should not be more than Rs.2.50 lakh.
30% (Thirty Percent) scholarship will be reserved for girls in case of the non-availability of girls candidates in that community the scholarship is transferable to the boy students in the same community.
No more than 2 (Two) students from the family.
Can avail of scholarship from not more than one source.
The Merit cum Means-based scheme is implemented through the NSP portal. Eligible students must apply online at NSP’s official website at https://scholarships.gov.in.
Scholarship Renewal:
The scholarship award may be renewed during the following academic year of the course if the student produces a certificate indicating that he or she received 50 percent in the previous year’s examination.
