Apply Kerala Scholarship Online for Academic Year 2021-22

Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala invites online applications for PMS (Pre Matric and Post Matric Scholarship) and MCM (Merit-cum-means Scholarship Scheme) for fresh & renewal from the eligible students studying in Kerala irrespective of their community.

The Directorate of Collegiate Education and Ministry of Human Resources also provides a Central Sector Scheme (CSS) of scholarship for college and university students from the present academic year. Applicants are requested to apply online through NSP (National Scholarship Portal) official website https://scholarships.gov.in.

Kerala DCE scholarship award will be distributed among the meritorious students belonging to the minority community throughout India. Students must obtain at least 50% in the previous examination. The scholarship will be discontinued the applicant fails to obtain 50% or equivalent.

Based on the population of the particular state of these minority communities, financial assistance will be provided to continue degree /PG level technical and professional courses from any Government recognized institution.

The scholarship amount will be made by electronic transfer only to your Nationalized Bank Account preferably through DBT for speedy disbursement of scholarship payment. Only those scholarship applications filled online from the official website along with necessary documents submitted to the concerned department within the given timeline are entertained.

Different Category of Kerala Scholarship:

1. Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities:

  • A first-year student of an undergraduate course or post-graduate course, Ph.D. course of college, higher secondary school, or university recognized by the government.
  • 11th standard technical or vocational courses of ITI and ITC centers affiliated to the national council of vocational training.
  • The course listed under merit cum means scholarship scheme.
  • Applicants must belong to minority communities such as Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsi, and Zoroastrians.
  • Students must secure 50% marks in the previous examination.
  • Students’ family annual income should not exceed Rs. 2,00,000/- (Two Lacs Rupees) P.A is eligible for this scholarship scheme.
  • A student must not avail of another scholarship other than this.
  • Scholarships will not be awarded to more 2 two persons in a family.
  • The scholarships amount will be sanctioned according to the criteria laid down by the state or central government.

2. Central Sector Scholarship CSS:

  • For professional courses – Rs.1000/- PM for the first 3 years and Rs. 2000/- PM for the fourth and fifth year.
  • Students must pursue any course at the UG degree level in any government-recognized institution.
  • A student who is pursuing private registration, correspondence, or distance education is not eligible for the scholarship scheme.
  • Student parental/guardian annual income should not exceed Rs 60, 0000/- (Six lakhs).
  • The students must not avail of another scholarship or financial assistance other than this.
  • Applicants should not belong to the creamy layer.

Amount of Scholarship:

  • For UG Students: Rs.1000/- PM
  • For PG Students: Rs. 2000/- PM

3. State Merit Scholarship:

  • Should be a 1st-year student of UG or PG course in government college or university.
  • The student must score 50% marks in the qualifying exam.
  • Student parental/guardian annual income should not exceed Rs 1, 00000/- (One lakh).

Amount of Scholarship:

  • For Graduation: Rs. 1250/- PA
  • For Post Graduation (PG): Rs. 1,500/- PA

4. District Merit Scholarship Eligibility Details:

  • Students must score “A Plus” in every subject in the SSLC exams conducted by the board.
  • The student who should be studying for higher secondary or ITI or Polytechnical course is eligible for this scheme.

Amount of Scholarship: Rs. 1250/- PA

5. Merit Scholarship to the Children of School Teachers:

  • Should be a 1st-year student of HSC or VHSC and UG course in government college of arts and science.
  • Students must be sons or daughters of any primary or secondary school teachers.

Amount of Scholarship: Rs.50/- Per Month

6. Hindi Scholarship Eligibility Details:

  • Hindi should be one of the main subjects in the present course

Amount of Scholarship:

  • Rs. 500/ Per Month for UG
  • Rs. 1000/- Per Month for PG

7. Muslim Nadar Girls Scholarship Eligibility Details:

  • Should be a 1st-year student of HSC or VHSC and UG course in government college of arts and science.
  • Students should belong to the backward community and below poverty line (BPL) families.

Amount of Scholarship: Rs. 125/- Per Annum

8. Sanskrit Scholarship Eligibility Details:

  • Sanskrit should be one of the main subjects in the present course

Amount of Scholarship:

  • Rs.200/- Per Month for UG
  • Rs.200/- Per Month for PG

MOMA Scholarship Scheme of Merit cum means

9. Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship Eligibility Details:

  • Should be a 1st-year student of UG or PG course in government college or university
  • Students should belong to the below poverty line (BPL) family.
  • Students must score 50% marks in the qualifying exam.

Amount of Scholarship: Rs. 10,000/- Per Annum

11. Blind/Physically Handicapped Scholarship:

  • Blind, physically handicapped (PH) or deaf students who are studying in govt colleges of music, arts, and science or higher secondary.
  • Fee charges for blind students whose parental/guardian annual income is below Rs. 2.50000/- (Two lakhs and Fifty Thousand).
  • Hostel charges for all physically handicapped (PH) students whose parental/guardian annual income is below Rs 4, 50000/- (Four lakhs and Fifty Thousand).
  • Boarding charges for all physically handicapped (PH) students whose parental/guardian annual income is below Rs 4, 50000/- (Four lakhs and Fifty Thousand).

How to Apply for Kerala Scholarship Online?

  • Students are required to apply online for fresh or renewal applications through the NSP official portal https://scholarships.gov.in.
  • A student applying for the first time should compulsorily register. Application ID will be login ID and the password is Date of Birth. Do not share application ID and password with others.
  • Those students who are applying for the first time or did not get a scholarship last year through NSP may log in again with the same login Id & password.
  • Those students who got scholarships last year through NSP are willing to renew for the current session in the same course. Login Id & password are the same as last year.

Scholarship Renewal :

In case of renewal of scholarships awarded in the previous years, maintenance allowance will be paid from the month following the month up to which scholarship was paid in the previous year if the course of study is continuous. The scholarship is dependent on the satisfactory progress and conduct of the scholar.
