Apply Arunachal Pradesh Umbrella Scholarship Scheme 2023-24

The Government of Arunachal Pradesh invites applications for the Umbrella Scholarship Scheme of the grant of stipend to the scheduled tribes (ST) students of Arunachal Pradesh for pursuing higher and technical education.

The object of the umbrella scholarship scheme is to provide financial assistance to ST Students of Arunachal Pradesh so as to enable them to pursue various courses of higher studies approved by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

Scholarship schemes provide an opportunity for all students that they can get scholarship benefits in their schools and colleges. Students must fulfill the eligibility criteria in order to get the stipend otherwise they will not get the benefits of any scholarship provided by the State or central government.

The aim of this article is to provide complete notification and details to every student. Online scholarship application forms are invited from eligible and interested bonafide APST students pursuing higher courses within and outside the State for providing scholarships for the academic year 2023-24.

Interested and eligible students may apply for umbrella scholarship scheme online through NSP (National Scholarship Portal). Those students who have already registered may renew their online application by logging in to the NSP portal. Fresh and renewal applications received after the last date will summarily be rejected.

Arunachal Pradesh Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The stipend will be admissible to students who belong to scheduled tribes of the states as notified by the central / state government and are permanent residents of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Schedules tribe students who are in full-time employment are not eligible for the award of a stipend.
  • Students whose attendance is below 75% in any month shall not be eligible for the award.
  • Students against whom disciplinary action is taken shall not be eligible for the award.
  • Students who pursue their studies through correspondence or distance education mode shall not be eligible for a stipend.
  • Students pursuing their studies in institutions not recognized by the state or central government like UGC, AICTE, MCI, DCI, BCI, CCH, etc., shall not be eligible for the award of a stipend.
  • Selection will be made on the basis of merit and reservation for SC, ST, and OBC.
  • Stipends will be payable from the date of admission for a particular course provided. But if the students take admission after the 20th day of the month, the stipend shall be admissible from the next month onward.
  • Students under this scheme will not avail of stipend from any other source.
  • The scholarship will not be available for an internship or practical training.
  • Students pursuing degree+PG will receive a stipend for the degree only.
  • Diploma-level students receive a stipend for diplomas only not for degree level.
  • Courses approved for the award of stipend under the scheme.

Renewal of Application:

The renewal of the scholarship is subject to the satisfactory progress and good behavior of the student for the particular course for which he/she applied for the stipend.

If it is reported by the head of the institution that a scholarship holder, be the reason for his/her own act of default has failed to make satisfactory progress or has been found guilty of misconduct such as resorting to or participating in a strike or political activities irregularity in attendance, etc., the stipend shall be discontinued.

How to Apply for Arunachal Pradesh Stipend Online?

1. Visit the national scholarship portal https://scholarships.gov.in.

2. New Registration (for candidates applying the first time): click on the ‘New Registration’ link on the homepage of the portal.

3. Fill up the fresh registration form and submit it.

4. On successful submission, the application id shall be sent to the applicant’s registered mobile by SMS and email which shall be the login id and the password will be the applicant’s date of birth.

5. Renewal (for registered candidates): The Application ID of the academic session shall be the login id and the password shall either be the candidate’s date of birth or any other Password that has been set by the candidates.

6. To apply for the AP stipend for the academic year 2022-23 (fresh case/renewal case), go to the state scheme’ tab on the homepage of the NSP portal and select Arunachal Pradesh.

7. Applicants can log in from the ‘Login’ link on the homepage of NSP or can go to the State Scheme. Arunachal Pradesh and select ‘Scheme for Award of Stipend to the schedule tribe students of Arunachal Pradesh’ to apply for the stipend.

8. Copy of the confirmation page has to be submitted to the respective institution and request the Institute authority to verify their online applications. The nodal officer of the concerned Institution has to ensure timely verification of the online application.

9. Candidates may check the verification status of their online application by logging in to the NSP portal.
